So just how windy was it today? Check out the flagpole at the Incarnate Word Academy.
OK, maybe it would have been more impressive if they’d been flying a flag. But trust me. Plenty windy.
Piranhas turned 900 today (oops. careful readers point out it should be 890. I THOUGHT they seemed might fresh.) Still going strong. Garmin, on the other hand, died today. I can’t believe it. Lower right button has recessed into watch. Back to the Timex.
Still a bit warm out. Mo, in Phoenix, is freezing. Snow on the foothills. Jack Frost nipping at her nose. Maybe she’ll come back after all …

today’s run
- 3.25 miles — 43:37 (13:30) 77 degrees (25-35) t
- no splits (garmin dead)
- Piranha-meter — 890 miles
I hope she is back soon so you stop watching Hallmark late night movie marathons and thinking up more rules. Oh and about the flagpole…………..I got nuttin!
oh, man, i gots me the rule slapdown there. i instead will turn my attention to creative ways of cheating.
Hahaha! That was so funny I called the Prickly Teen over to look and he thought it was funny too. He wondered what on earth it meant that piranhas turn 900 today, so I told him. I also told him your shoes stink and he asked why you don’t wear socks. I had no answer for that. Why don’t you wear socks?
You get a new Garmin after all. WHOOOT! Or rather, you would, if your Garmin fund wasn’t being swallowed up in the mug fund…
because if i wore socks the shoes wouldn’t stink. duh.
tell him i’m a guitarist and a male, so he is required to side with me.
I had the prickly teen read you comments. He sort of smirked. I asked if he had any response. There was a shrug. I asked if he supported you. Another shrug and “Sure”. So there you have it! Unequivocal unbridled enthusiasm from the iPod wearing teen. 🙂
Read YOUR comments, not read the comments to you.
Are you sure it’s not 890?
oops. did i mention i’m tired?
It was rather windy out at the Cowtown marathon today and all along the three hour interstate drive home.
You kids and your silly technology, back in my day we just had a heart rate monitor with a stop watch function not all this fancy pace recording and distance measuring.
yeah, i’m back to my stinkin’ timex if i can find it. those old watches were so damn small …
congrats on great race! sounds like some nasty weather. i ran cowtown a couple times in the mid-80s. i loved that race.
Defective Garmin – no wonder no one took it at the gym.
or possibly Magic Weasels swiped mine and left this defective one. They’re like that, you know.
Wait – aren’t you in Corpus Christi? Doesn’t it tend to get EXTREMELY windy there from time to time? I think you need to base your description of the wind off of the worst case scenario for the history of the area. If we follow that guidline (say, windy is 50% of the worst case scenario), I don’t think you’re allowed to say it was windy until you’re up over 60 mph or so…
Hurricane stuff is just propaganda made up to keep the joint from getting too crowded during the summer.
310XT here we come….if the screen is big enough to read, that is 🙂
man. i priced them only to discover i could buy three 305s for the price of one 310. The way I’m going through them it makes more sense to buy a 305 and a magnifying glass. I don’t think I could give up any of the four displays anyway, and i think 310 only allows three. How quickly I would become bored without the max numbers to stare at.
