Garmin 110 review, part 3: My watch vs. Mo watch

Sure, the Garmin 110 is a swell watch (yes, “swell” is a word I still use from my Beaver Cleaver days. Sorry.) But how does it stack up against the competition?

My watch: The Garmin 110

Pros:

— Small enough to wear as a daily watch.
— No-frills  gps, giving mileage, pace, heart rate and not much more.
— Large readout is easily viewed on the run; backlight works great.
— Quick satellite connection and satellites never get lost.
— Battery lasts forever in power save mode.

Con:

— Ugly racing stripe on band.
— Costs as much as 150 Medium Chocolate Frosties.

Mo watch: Swatch watch from Squiggly’s Watch World

Cons:

— No chrono function, so can’t be used as running watch.
— She can’t even tell what time it is.
—  Strangers assume she beat up a 6-year-old and stole her watch.

PRO:

— It makes her happy.

CONCLUSION:

Mo wins.

    About time!

Happiness trumps function, but for my watch, like some parents and their children, the name is of great importance. Which watch is more nickname-able?

    mo’s watch is much cooler….
