Life without Kathie Lee

Our cable provider is in a fight to the death with our NBC affiliate.

The result: We no longer get NBC. This has affected my life in profound ways.

We don’t pay for cable here, so there’s no point in halting my service in protest. But still. What to do? How can we continue life as we know it without the Peacock Channel?

We can’t watch prime-time NBC shows! Mo points out that I work nights so I don’t watch them anyhow.

Sunday Night Football! Oh, see above.

THE SUPER BOWL! Again, above.

The local NBC news already is broadcast on the CBS affiliate (yes, we live in an odd land.) I have no idea what they show from midnight to 2 a.m., my normal viewing hours, so I won’t miss it.

We still get the rants of Stephen A. Smith vs. Skip Bayless in the morning, and SpongeBob  in the afternoon. That’s pretty much the extent of my TV viewing anyhow.

So what’s the effect of Time Warner Cable dropping my NBC affiliate?

I no longer accidentally stumble across Kathie Lee Gifford in the morning as I click through to my Daytime Drama.

And for that, I am extremely grateful.

Now if Time Warner Cable could just get into a fight with Fox News …
