OK, so I’ve been in the holiday lull.
But that changed yesterday. Serious Training began.
I have decided to enter the Pie Mile. I’m sure you’re familiar with event, much like a Beer Mile but with whipped cream added. Eat a slice of pie, run a quarter mile, eat slice, quarter mile, eat slice, quarter mile, eat slice, run quarter mile.
Yesterday was my first day of training. I ate four slices of pie at work. They were just sitting there in the break room. I’m proud to work in an environment that promotes physical fitness in this way.
In the same way that you separate the disciplines in triathlon training, I just ate pie without adding in the running portion. Better not to overdo it the first day.
Amazingly I woke up today not feeling sore at all. Can the Pie Marathon be far behind?
