The wind was blowing today at 300 mph. This is NOT an exaggeration. Gusts up to 450. A spectacular, howling gale of a wind that rattled the apartment. Wind advisories scrolling across the screen constantly. Unpleasant women whipping by on bicycles with little dogs in baskets.
Did that stop me from running? Heck, no. I am a Dedicated Runner. I will endure whatever the elements throw at me to get in my daily run.
Undeterred, I laced up the Piranhas, strapped on the Garmin, cinched the trusty Sequel hat tight and plunged into the abyss.
Sure, It was brutal outside. Absolutely, I was battered as I made my way to the car to drive to the gym. But that’s what being a Dedicated Runner is all about.
Even worse, the cable was out on my treadmill. So I had NO SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS for the ENTIRE RUN.
But that’s OK. Because I’m a Dedicated Runner.
Hmm. I wonder if the Marathon de Sables has cable …
I do hope the wind was at your back on the TM!
Just repeat: “There’s no place like home.” a few times. 🙂
No Spongebob!?!?!
I am impressed by your dedication.
Spongebob is overrated anyhow. Unless it’s the episode where Mr. Krabs says “I smell the smelly smell of something that smells smelly”. Which somehow reminds me of your piranhas. Or the one when Spongebob gets the suds. Or the one where Squidward has fun with the leaf blower.
But we are passed such juvenile genius hilarity and have recently started watching Little Einsteins and some animal show with the Kratt brothers. I highly recommend them.
What a world, what a world!
