Just savor the moment, bro’. Sometimes circumstances work in favor of us folks who are “near the top” in terms of seniority..
Other times, though, not so much.
For example, in my small town race this morning, my age group went from 60 to infinity. While I haven’t seen today’s results, last year the top 5 were in their 60s, as were 9 of the top 10.
Maybe I need a smaller town!
Congratulations on winning your AG! 🙂
Now please excuse me while I make plans to move to a small town…
3. you are the only one in your age group because you scared off the competition in your age group.
A win is a win (speaking as an old person who lives in a small town). I hope you got a special longevity award.
If the town gets any smaller, maybe you can with the 14 year-old girl age category like SeniorRunner did a while back.
The first 14-year-old female beat me by 16 seconds.
Very nice, congratulations :). A wins a win!!!

Congratulations! Think of all the people in your age group that stayed in bed. You won!!
Medals are cool…but you’d think you’d get a Shiner or a medium chocolate frosty for being a big winner.
