One, two, three, four
If I had ever been here before
I would probably know just what to do
— the prophet david crosby
If you had told me five days ago that today I would have completed my fourth consecutive day of running, I would have replied “huh. you really know what happens on Monday? Um, got any NFL scores?”
But here I am, the proud holder of a four-day running streak. Sure, one of them was just walking 2 miles. And another was barely jogging 2. But the last two have been 4 milers, and super-fast as well. Today was all sub-13 minute miles, so it’s big miles AND a fast pace.
Do they keep records for running streaks? Surely four days straight is getting near the record. Dare I even dream of a solid week? Nah. One day at a time.
Do you have to sign up in advance for the Olympic marathon, or can you enter day of race? I’m on my way. Maybe they’ll have it in a fun place like Brazil. One can only hope.
Please let me know if you would like me to come to your running event as a motivational speaker or just to sign autographs. Fee negotiable.
