mo’s bench

mobench

Mo has been dabbling with a park bench for our neighborhood park (they have a series of park benches done by various artists.) Other side is painting of two cats. This is the back. To avoid graffiti, it seems essential around these parts to cover every inch with something, as to not give taggers a target.

We have a massive stray cat problem here. A woman who runs the chinese restaurant next to the store where she works feeds the strays that live there. Mo was leaving work this week when she saw her going out. Mo always assumed she just did it without much thought. But as she was putting out the food, a scrawny little cat came running across the parking lot, dodging cars. “Don’t run out in the driveway like that! You could get hurt!” she said to the kitty. Just a nice moment.

I think that’s what the inspiration is here. A prayer for all the little guys fighting the odds to survive in a scary life they didn’t choose. Make us to be true friends indeed.

Mo is OK.
