One flu over (the cuckoo next?)

“What makes people so impatient is what
I can’t figure; all the guy had to do was wait.”
― the prophet ken kesey

There’s something about the first outing after a nasty flu.

Seven days of complete zombiedom finally made way to a stroll.

It was awful. It was great. Legs still feel like I’m in a coma. But the worst is behind. All downhill from here. I’m sweating again, and it has nothing to do with the 102 vermin playing ping-pong in my head. Now, it’s just a matter of being patient.

With the flu behind me, I have my diplomatic immunity card. I can parade into the gym and smile at the guy coughing on the next treadmill. Trade sweat with the guy on the bicep machine. Share 40 Dogs with the homeless guys in the parking lot. Breathe. I’m a veteran of the wars on the mend. I won’t go crazy from the wait. I’m ready to race again. Bring it on.

Maybe after I take a nap. And eat a few brains …
